Unofficial wedding photographer

We are now starting to feel more established living back in the Lake District. Moving back to Cumbria from our 2 years in New Zealand has been a real challenge, but we have been well received by the people of Ulverston and are really enjoying getting out walking in the fells again.
The reason we headed back to the UK at the end of winter, rather than waiting for the better weather, was that some good friends Jo and Chris were getting married in February. Although I wasn’t the official photographer, I couldn’t help but capture some real emotion and a few special moments from the side line.Candid photograph of the bride and groom

The wedding ceremony was held at Goldsborough Hall near Knaresborough, a lovely intimate venue. It was a very bright day, which was quite challenging for photography. Jo wore a beautiful silver wedding dress and carried a small natural bouquet of Spring flowers.

The wedding reception was held at the historic Crown Hotel in Harrogate. It was a great chance for us to catch up with good friends who we hadn’t seen for 2 years. Towards the end of the evening, as well as enjoying the dancing and the food, I had fun playing with long exposures of 20-30 seconds, which created some interesting effects. Thanks to Jo and Chris for a wonderful day, we had a great time.
